Slipknot x Sandbox to Launch the Metaverse Space for Metalheads Dubbed Knotverse

Metal music is finally rushing into the web3, following electronics, pop, rap, and hip-hop. Thus, Corey and the band of masked nu-metal gods are building a never-before-seen VR space where all the huge Slipknot fandom, as well members of the already existing, self-driven project Knotfest, gather for meetups. This would allow all metalheads, regardless of their location, to get together for concerts, and socialize with other head-to-toe metallers.

In partnership with the Hong Kong-based Animoca Brands subsidiary, the top-ranking metaverse gaming brand The Sandbox, Slipknot tends to create a “one-of-a-kind meeting place for heavy music culture in the metaverse.”

Besides the pleasure of meeting like-minders and slamming to the sound of loud reefs, fans will be treated to a bunch of digital benefits, including NFTs, gaming experience, cool merch, gear and tons of awesome rock stuff, exclusive unexpected collabs and events, brand-new music releases both IRL and in the Knotverse, and beyond.

The Knotverse is likely to adopt Slipknot’s recognized style of a dark carnival-inspired aesthetic, which has been projected on the Knotfest and will carry the aesthetics of the iconic band’s legacy developed during two decades of existence.

When I started playing Quake online in 1999 and Minecraft in 2011, it was on another level. “But at the time, I couldn’t have Sid [Wilson] scratching next to me, I couldn’t offer visual art to fans. All we could do together was play the game. But little ideas like that are not only possible now, they barely scratch the surface. We are listening, we are watching, and we are going where our fans are leading us. And if you don’t understand or you’re worried, know that we’re going to help bring our fans along. We are getting in on this for all of us, with all of us, and we can’t wait for you to see what we have coming up,” Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan comments on his exploration into the gaming world.

We’re proud to welcome Slipknot and Knotfest as the first heavy music band to open a home for their community in The Sandbox open metaverse. We’re building the future of digital expression and social interactions and this partnership invites a diverse, freethinking new audience to experience the benefits of true ownership where any Slipknot NFT can be used not only in The Sandbox but on any other compatible platform,” Sébastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox explains the prospects of the Knotverse.

The whole nu-metal community of web3 enthusiasts can’t breathe in anticipation of the upcoming Knotverse. And what about you?
