Former Coinbase Manager Was Just Charged With Crypto Insider Trading
The year of crypto enforcement continues. Not two months after the FBI arrested a former OpenSea employee on charges of insider trading, the U.S. Department of Justice has released a statement explaining its decision to charge Ishan Wahi, Coinbase’s former product manager, with wire fraud conspiracy and wire fraud in connection with a scheme to commit insider trading. Wahi allegedly used confidential Coinbase information regarding crypto assets that were scheduled to be listed on the platform’s exchanges. The DOJ arrested Ishan and his brother Nikhil Wahi, with whom Ishan is suspected of sharing the information, in Seattle, Washington this morning. […]
Here’s How Gamers Are Responding to Minecraft’s Sweeping NFT Ban
Since NFTs first entered the public spotlight in early 2021, one group has rallied against letting this technology into their lives: gamers. That leaves regular or core gaming experiences like Call of Duty, Valorant, and Fortnite in an entirely different market category than their blockchain-enabled counterparts. Despite their growing valuations and popularity, blockchain games are still struggling to compete with their mainstream gaming counterparts. For example, Decentraland and The Sandbox are two games that’ve tried popularizing the concept of buying and selling virtual real estate as NFTs have both struggled to hit even 1,000 active monthly users as of writing. […]
Art or Investment? The US Government’s New Policy on NFTs
The United States Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has issued new guidance regarding non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In a legal advisory issued earlier this week, the OGE expanded its initiative aimed at preventing conflicts of interest in the highest levels of the US government. The new requirement? Senior officials must disclose the NFTs they own. Ultimately, this new guidance raises important questions about whether NFTs are viewed as art or investments by the US government. New rules for Web3 Every year, US politicians need to file statements containing details about their personal finances. These documents are declared to the public and […]

A New NFT Card Game Was Designed and Written by AI
Could artificial intelligence ever truly replace the work of a human in a creative environment? Entropy Cards creator and digital artist (who operates under the alias) NA1 thinks not. Even with projects like OpenAI’s DALL-E gaining massive notoriety this year as a certified meme printer, NA1 believes that human curation and input remain a crucial step when working with AI on creative projects. This is particularly key in the NFT art world, where collections can exceed thousands of pieces, with the potential to gross millions of dollars in revenue. For now, at least. The entire Entropy Cards project is a testament […]
Can a Major Esports Network Convert NFTs’ Biggest Detractors?
There’s far more to NFTs than the generative PFP projects you may stumble upon while scrolling through social media. But for many, the conventional conception of what NFTs are is rooted in a field far removed from the arts: play-to-earn (P2E) games. This is especially true in Asian countries, where P2E experiences like the beleaguered Axie Infinity reigned supreme in a recent analysis done by CashNetUSA gauging the most popular NFTs in the world by region. Enter TechStorm — a Singapore-based digital esports media network that aims to function as a regional hub for Web3, fostering collaborations ranging from gamefi […]
Is the Web3 Marketplace Ready for NFT Rentals?
In the Web3 space, change is the only constant. Go offline for even a day or two, and you’re likely to have missed a development somewhere in the ecosystem, whether it’s about NFTs, DeFi, blockchain capabilities, or something else. A less common but deeply compelling part of the NFT ecosystem is the idea of NFT rentals. The first thing to know about the NFT rentals is that while intriguing, they’re also nascent, which means they remain underdeveloped. But the basic idea lives up to the name: NFT owners can rent out their digital assets for temporary use for several varying […]
VaynerNFT’s Web3 Rebrand ‘Cannot Be Ignored’
VaynerNFT — VeeFriends founder and prolific internet entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk’s NFT strategic consulting arm — is undergoing a significant rebrand. This follows reports that surfaced last May 2022 of a new Vaynerchuk-centric trademark filing: Vayner3. Effective today, this arm of Vaynerchuk’s various internet-related ventures is now going by this new name. It marks a significant shift in strategy by the firm, as well as the continued commitment of Vaynerchuk towards NFTs — and Web3 as a whole. With another crypto winter upon us, this shows the firm’s readiness to weather the storm — and they’re looking to bring along anyone […]
